Becker's Hospital Review Names 100 Great Community Hospitals Mercy Hospital Grayling Named to List
GRAYLING, MI – Becker's Hospital Review has published its list "100 Great Community Hospitals." This list recognizes community hospitals dedicated to high-quality care and service to the community. The hospitals have fewer than 550 beds and minimal teaching programs, and are often located in rural areas as the only hospitals in their communities. Whether independent or part of a larger health system, the following hospitals have worked with limited resources to continually provide the quality of care and experience patients expect.
The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team selected community hospitals based on rankings and awards from iVantage Health Analytics, Truven Health Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters), Healthgrades and The Joint Commission. Nominations for the list were also considered.
The 2013 edition of "100 Great Community Hospitals" includes Mercy Hospital Grayling. Five hospitals in Michigan were named to this year's list with Mercy Hospital Grayling being the only hospital in northern Michigan to receive the honor. Mercy Hospital Grayling was also the only hospital in northern Michigan to be named a 100 Top Hospital and Everest Award winner for 2012.
"We are proud to be named to Becker's Hospital Review's 100 Great Community Hospitals list. These awards are especially important for our community because they reinforce that we have a jewel of a health care system right in our own backyard where the majority of our health care needs can be met conveniently. Mercy Grayling provides access to state of the art, quality health care services and once our patients experience the exceptional care we provide, we have the opportunity be their trusted health partner for life," said Stephanie Riemer-Matuzak, CEO of Mercy Hospital Grayling.
