Mercy Hospital Grayling Better Breathing Education Series
Free eight-week health education series helps those with chronic respiratory disease learn how to better manage their condition. Classes begin Feb 15 and registration is required.
The Mercy Hospital Grayling Respiratory Care Department is offering an eight-week class about helping those with chronic lung conditions learn how to breath and live better. It is a self-management program for adults with certain breathing disorders such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis or asthma.
The first class is Monday, February 15 from 1:30 pm-3:00 pm. The class will be held every Monday through April 5. The eight-week series will include instruction from a variety of healthcare professionals and a Licensed Respiratory Therapist will be hosting the series and able to provide information and answer questions.
The classes will cover a different topic each week including: lung anatomy, physiology and lung disease, understanding your medications, breathing devices, travel tips, panic control, stress and relaxation, nutrition and lung disease, mental health issues related to chronic illness, building strength and endurance, and energy conservation.
The program is offered at no charge by the Mercy Hospital Grayling Respiratory Care Department in conjunction with Munson Medical Center. Registration is required and you can reserve your place in the program by calling the Mercy Respiratory Care Department at (989) 348-0325.
