An employee’s personal problems can have
a negative effect on performance, which directly impacts a company’s
efficiency. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a package
of counseling services that an employer offers as a benefit to
employees and their family members to help them address a wide
range of personal problems that can affect job performance, including:
Marital or relationship problems
Depression
Anxiety
Stress
Alcohol or drug abuse
Legal and financial difficulties
Parenting
Eligibility
Most companies who offer a program make services
available free of charge to employees and their legal dependents.
Usually an employer has prepaid a designated number of visits,
often three to five. Once the prepaid visits are used, the cost
of additional visits of other services may be covered under the
employee’s health plan. If not, they are the responsibility
of the employee. In these instances, the EAP professional will
explain about available options with the employee before proceeding
with additional services or providing a referral to other services.
For Munson Employees
Munson offers its employees an EAP benefit, which
includes screening, assessment, referral, and short-term counseling
of up to six sessions per year. Family members also receive up
to six free counseling sesions per year.
Our Staff
Munson’s Behavioral Health Services team
of licensed mental health and chemical dependency counselors and
social workers creates customized counseling programs for companies
to address their specific needs.
Privacy
All services are confidential. EAP staff will
not share any information regarding a person’s involvement
with the EAP without that person’s knowledge and consent,
except in specified situations that are required by law, such
as the obvious abuse of an elderly or minor dependent.
