Spiritual Care
The Spiritual Care Department has an active part
in providing holistic care to patients, families, and staff. A
Spiritual Care Coordinator (staff chaplain), on-call ministers
from local religious congregations, and more than fifteen volunteers
staff the department. Together, they share responsibility for
visiting newly admitted patients, administering sacraments, and
ministering to critically or terminally ill patients. They also
respond to requests for counseling, spiritual encouragement, and
general support as needed. Pastoral Care is also available 24-hours
a day. This coverage offers spiritual and emotional support to
patients, their families, and staff in emergency situations within
the hospital and community. By working closely as a team with
family, staff, patients, and community resources, Mercy Hospital
Grayling and its Spiritual Care Department seek to offer healing
to body, mind, and spirit.
If you are a Mercy Hospital Grayling patient and have
a compliment, concern, or complaint, please contact one of our Patient
Liaisons.
