Acute Injury
Rehabilitation: Our physical therapists provide a variety
of services to clients who have sustained an acute injury. A comprehensive
evaluation is completed and treatment provided in accordance with
physician prescriptional programs and use a variety of physical
agents, including iontophoresis, phonophoresis, ultrasound, hot/cold
packs, and more.
Back Rehabilitation:
The Physical Therapists perform a thorough musculoskeletal/neurological
assessment and develop an individualized treatment program to
facilitate a functional recovery and alleviate discomfort. Emphasis
is placed on educational training to increase knowledge of back
function and application to a safe and healthy lifestyle.
Occupational
Therapy: The Occupational Therapist will provide evaluations,
therapy sessions and home exercise programs for clients who have
had any disruption of their independent life-style. An evaluation
of each client occurs with obtaining essential medical, vocational
and social histories. The performance of daily activities at work,
home and leisure are part of the initial consultation. Along with
hands-on therapeutic treatment, modalities are often called for
in certain diagnoses. These include Ultrasound, Iontophoresis,
Electrical Muscle Stimulation, Paraffin and Tens. Occupational
Therapy also utilizes adaptive equipment for individuals who require
assistance in their daily activity. Such tools may aid an individual
in dressing, eating, and performing self care activities.
Physical Therapy:
Physical Therapists focus on the prevention and rehabilitation
of physical dysfunction resulting from orthopedic injuries, neurological
deficits, musculoskeletal problems, arthritis and chronic pain.
Treatment provided may include neuromuscular stimulation, muscle
re-education and strengthening, coordination exercises, soft tissue
and joint mobilization, traction, isokinetic testing and training.
Speech and Language
Therapy: The Speech and Language Pathologist evaluates and
treats speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders that
may result from stroke, neurological disease, traumatic brain
injury, oral/laryngeal cancer and/or developmental delays. Treatment
is individualized and focused on helping you recover speech skills,
language skills and swallowing and learn compensatory techniques
that will facilitate communication.
