Northern Michigan offers many opportunities for continuing education including Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City, Kirtland Community College in Roscommon, and West Shore Community College in Scottville.

Bachelor's and master's degrees are available through Northwestern Michigan College - University Center in Traverse City. The University Center offers programs through 11 colleges and universities including: Central Michigan University, Davenport College, Eastern Michigan University, Ferris State University, Grand Valley State University, Lawrence Technological University, Michigan State University, Michigan Technological University, Spring Arbor University, the University of Michigan, and Western Michigan University.
