Every
day, hundreds of our patients lives are enriched by volunteers.
The touch of a hand, a smiling face, or a gentle voice are the
things remembered long after recovery.
Volunteering just four hours per week can
make a big difference in someones life, as well as your
own. A little compassion and laughter, some giving and a touch
of friendship, are all the skills youll need to become a
volunteer. Its easy, fun, and requires very little of your
time.
Commitment
Whether youre interested in direct patient
interaction or volunteering behind the scenes, theres a
place for you at one of our hospitals. If youre willing
to make a commitment, you may begin volunteering at age 16. Volunteer
positions are available for all ages, in areas such as the gift
shop or fundraising events. Both short-term (we prefer no less
than sixth months) and long-term assignments are available, with
flexible hours to fit your busy schedule. All volunteers receive
specialized and professional training.
Benefits/Opportunities
As a volunteer, youll enjoy creating
new friendships and will feel good knowing you are making a difference
in peoples lives.
Once youve qualified as a volunteer,
discounts at area businesses and pharmacy services will be available.
After volunteering 100 hours, Munson Healthcare offers you special
medical benefits. By maintaining 100 hours per year, you will
be eligible to receive a Medical Courtesy Discount, which entitles
you to receive up to a 50 percent deduction from out of pocket
expenses for services received. Your volunteer experience can
also be used on a resume, a college application, or in some cases,
